Years ago, Carnivals were a part of everyday american life bringing a spectacular experience to a local community by bringing families and young people together for a day or night of memorable experiences, these carnivals would feature fun, colorful and well illuminated rides and games in a pop-up temporary, easy access location adding excitement to the community.
The crowd that would assemble for the carnival would facilitate other spin off features that combine a local feel and give people an opportunity to see friends, take pictures, make memories and generally have a wonderful time and when it ended everything would be transported to the next location leaving everything back to normal.
Over the years, many of these carnival opportunities have dried up, the carnival industry has been shrinking and there are fewer carnival providers as many of the current operators are focusing on much larger events including State fairs.
With the dynamics of the entertainment industry changing, Carnivals have been making a comeback and are increasing in popularity. This trend offers some opportunity for new business strategies where carnival sites can make a comeback in smaller locations or other areas that may have never had a carnival. By partnering with organizations that have access to local resources, this not only saves money and reduces waste but actually bridges a gap in making a carnival work in a new location where it otherwise may have not been practical.
Safety is always paramount, in todays constantly evolving, safety conscious world there are levels of safety in use to ensure the equipment is suitable for use and monitored by State regulatory agencies. Many individuals are unaware of the level of quality assurance that has been integrated within the amusement industry and there are many similarities to safeguards in place with commercial aviation, in fact many amusement attractions are inspected more often than commercial airliners, bridges, elevators and especially the vehicles we drive every day. Manufacturers have also increased safeguards and carnival rides are designed to be assembled and disassembled and moved regularly, this also enhances hands on and visual accountability so you can feel assured that the industry has evolved tremendously in the last 20 years.
1. A High traffic, high visibility location on a main road and within 1/4 mile of a main intersection or high volume business.
2. Local population of minimum 6,000
3. A paved and reasonably level surface approx. 3/4 acre minimum for rides.

Percentages are typically calculated depending on Location, any past documented historical success, date of carnival, duration, volunteer availability,ATM availability, trash collection options, water availability, overnight security, outdoor lighting, permitting acquisition etc. On a smaller sized carnival, Typically between 10-20% of ride only revenue would be the split to the organization.
We would rent the property directly from a property owner, this offers guaranteed incentive to the property owner with a flat, fixed fee for a designated time period regardless of the events success, we would cover all costs associated with producing the carnival and therefore would not offer any revenue share since the property is rented. The property would need to meet our criteria for a successful carnival.
Location & Dates determine the possibility of coordinating a carnival. Rides are very costly to transport and the duration of the event can often lead in the Feasibility decision on constructing a successful carnival. A minimum duration is usually 4 or more days, the larger the date range can increase the possibility of success. 1 or 2 day events are not feasible
Ride layout, selection, and hours of business, and ticketing structure would be determined by carnival operator as these are critical to overall functionality, appeal, marketability, and event success.
Many Food trucks, vendors, local businesses, organizations and other local and valuable functions are welcome can be added upon prior agreement providing they are non-conflict.

Big Round Wheel Amusements provides high quality amusement rides and attractions to exclusive corporate and private clients anywhere in the United States or anywhere in the world. Our fleet of high quality and well built amusement rides and games is kept maintained to the highest standards both mechanically and visually to offer appeal to high end rental clients who absolutely must be confident in dealing with a company that they can count on. These rides are normally rented for a flat fee for private functions and corporate events where guests will not be paying to ride.
Occasionally, we would come upon an opportunity to assemble equipment locally and organize a carnival that is open to the public and not associated with a rental. These events have proven to be successful for us and we have reserved a small amount of space in our schedule to allow us to participate in about 3 or 4 per year. While we privide national service as a rental company, these types of carnival events do not generate the revenue to transport all of the large equipment long distances and we limit these ticketed events to the Carolinas as we keep many of our rides stored at our facility in South Carolina. As a rental company, we pride ourselves on safety, professionalism, reliability, and a very positive appearance and when we organize a public carnival, we often stand out and we are often recognized for our high quality practices.
