72 FT XL Gondola Ferris Wheel

Our 72 Foot XL Gondola style ferris wheel is perfect when you need a Giant Extra Large Ferris wheel that can be seen from a great distance, the XL ferris wheel also gives passengers an extraordinary view and an unbelievably smooth ride. This Ferris wheel is all white and we have had a strong interest from clients to rent an all white ferris wheel.

This XL ferris wheel is composed of 16 Gondolas, each seating 4 adults for a maximum capacity of 64. The loading platform has two staircases and will facilitate loading two gondolas simultaneously and this means 8 people can be loaded once. There is also an optional rear unloading platform and staircase to expedite the unloading to allow passengers to exit one side of the gondola as new passengers are entering. All of these design features offer a much faster turn around and increase the hourly capacity.

Ride Capacity

In terms of capacity, these figures can vary dramatically depending on the crowd type, younger groups board fastest, and family groups with children board much slower. In talking capacity, we like to find an average that we find to be realistic. We have found that it takes 10 to 14 minutes per ride cycle of 64 passengers, at the end of the cycle the ride will be loaded with 64 new passengers to give the next ride.

The footprint of this Ferris wheel is approximate 30 X 60 and the weight is around 78,000 Lbs plus the 18,000 lb truck that pulls the ride and once the ride is moved into position, the truck is unhooked and can be parked in a different location.

Permitting and Assembly

Equipment of this size must be permitted as an oversized load as we transport it through each state, we handle this permitting and the oversized load transportation. The axle weights do not exceed normal weight limits for standard roads or parking areas and when the ferris wheel is set up, the weight is distributed evenly across a larger area to reduce static loads. Assembly takes about a day and a half, when the ride is assembled on site, we need a few pieces of support equipment that are available at a local equipment rental supply such as United Rentals or Sunbelt rentals.

- A 20 Kilowatt generator

These items are needed for setup and takedown and it is most economical to rent these locally rather than transport them long distances with the ferris wheel.

The power consumption is very minimal as we are constantly sourcing new rides that become extremely energy efficient. The ferris wheel uses a 20 kilowatt generator to produce 3 phase-208 volt power via a 5 wire system. We are currently working on solar and battery options that will allow us to be a first in the industry to develop a mobile ferris wheel that uses a green energy power source so stay tuned!
